Owners of Underground Petroleum Storage Systems (UPSS) have new responsibilities under the Protection of the Environment Operations (UPSS) Regulation 2008.   From June 1, 2009 those responsible for a UPSS must have:   A Environmental Protection Plan Including, §  Details of who is responsible for the UPSS. §  Incident Management Plan for the UPSS. §  Security Details. §  Details of the Maintenance Program. §  Installation Industry Standard Details. §  A loss monitoring procedure such as “Statistical Inventory Reconciliation Analysis" (SIRA) which is able to detect a leak of petroleum from an underground storage tank of 0.76L/Hr at 95% accuracy. §  A SIRA Site Plan. §  As laid Tank and Pipe Plan.

From June 1, 2011 those responsible for a UPSS must have:   Ground Monitoring wells installed and tested every six months. In addition to the requirements under the UPSS Regulation 2008, those responsible for a UPSS must also comply with the requirements from WorkCover and their local Electrical Authority.   These Authorities require:   A Site Risk Assessment Evacuation Plan WorkCover Dangerous Goods Site Plan Electrical Dossier Plan As Laid Tank and Pipe Plan Petrolink are ‘duly qualified' and can ensure your site is compliant with the new regulation.
