In 1990, NSW WorkCover Authority recognised Petrolink’s expertise in the Dangerous Goods Storage Industry and were invited to participate in the Accredited Dangerous Goods Consultants scheme. The company currently has a “General Multiple” accreditation with the AIDGC which includes all methods for storage of dangerous goods as well as all industry types related to fuels, gases, food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, educational and research institutions.
As a member of the Australian Institute of Dangerous Goods Consultants, Petrolink personnel are involved in the continual improvement of dangerous goods handling.
Petrolink can provide a program of regular audit and feedback, not only of hazardous and dangerous goods handling, but also the supporting Occupational Health and Safety infrastructure. The feedback can include advice and comment on site practices, material safety data sheet updates, emergency planning, waste handling protocols and general environmental procedures.
This is a key part of an organisation’s regulatory compliance and due diligence, as is required by Occupational Health and Safety Legislation. As one of the State’s leading Dangerous Goods consultants, Petrolink can assist with planning and design of storage facilities and procedures for a wide range of dangerous goods and hazardous substances, including gases, flammable liquids, oxidising agents, toxic and corrosive substances, miscellaneous goods and consumer commodities. This includes both new and current facilities. Every site is continually changing, as are the various regulatory requirements. Hazardous and Dangerous Goods handling procedures need to be approached on a basis of continual review and update.
